Traditional Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art developed over thousands of years.
Taekwondo (also known as Tae Kwon Do) is the art of self-defense that originated in Korea. It is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world, reaching back over 2,000 years. The name was selected for its appropriate description of the art: Tae (the way of foot), Kwon (the way of hand), Do (the way of life or art). Put this together and Tae Kwon Do means: “The art of kicking and punching;” or, more generally: “The art of unarmed combat.” .
It is intended to develop the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – while teaching effective self-defense skills for the practitioner. The practice of this art develops strong character through its five primary tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.

And enclosing it in a letter to an opponent

Let the opponent know his skill without a combat. The way of the sword is
The way of the righteousness
And the way of the truth. As you hold a sword and breathe calmly
Your soul will quiet down like a tranquil lake
When you swing a sword
With a determination to cut anything in the way
